I still can't find the original of R. U. R. by Karel Čapek. Produced by Jan Bussell (BBC). I can find a book version, and an audiobook of the book version, and something that must be a newer version that is 2+ hours long. The original 1938 BBC radio version was about 35 minutes long, right? Does anybody know where to find this one? It doesn't have to be free! I'd just like to hear it.

  1. I'm afraid that, stupidly, the people nominating chose something that no longer exists. The version of RUR in question was actually a TV one -- broadcast live, during a time when TV transmissions didn't reach any further than thirty miles from London, and when they had no way of recording TV signals.
So it's Orson Welles, Orson Welles, Orson Welles or Orson Welles...

    1. Oh wow, I had heard that it might no longer exist, but I didn't have the details. Thanks for that! That's a real shame - I was excited to hear it!
